Optimum group: 4-10 people
Physical Fitness: You should be ready to climb the mountain ridge by foot (distance from the start point to the top is about 5 - 8 km) with light rucksacks and carry moderate physical loads.
Important: For participation in this travel you should have inoculation against encephalitis.
Necessary personal equipment: Clothing to suit temperature range from -5ºC to +20ºC. Waterproof clothing, high gum boots, trekking boots, sun glasses, UV cream, repellents for mosquitoes, sleeping bag**.
The trip includes:
car(bus) transportation,
professional guide (scientific researcher) and translator,
accommodation in tent camp (two man tents supplied with insulating mat),
entrance to museums,
meal in time of the tour, according to program

Meal in the mountains are prepared on campfires - as a rule this is usual Russian traditional tourist food, but it is always possible to agree to a menu beforehand.

***Types of carriages. In this trip you can use two classes of carriages:

2nd class or kupeyny vagon (“cupe” a compartment with 4 berths - "K") There are eight cupe compartments in the train, each has a door with two locks. The compartments have the same size as in 1st class, but are packed with 4 berths. This is the most usual accommodation on long-distance trains, and they will suit you if you do not care too much about lack of place, or if you are travelling with your friends or want to make new acquaintances on the train. Cupe carriages are usually cleaner and less noisy than platzcart. The price of cupe is usually about 50-90% more than platzcart.
Ticket cost (in June 2005) was about 18 euro from Ekaterinburg to Severouralsk. Bedclothes about 2 euro/per person.
3rd class or platskartny vagon (“platzcart” a common sleeping carriage - russian "P") It’s the cheapest option. There are eight opened compartments in the carriage, each providing 4 sleeping places and space for luggage, plus additional 2 sleeping places on the other side. Generally, platzcart carriages are a little bit noisy, then cupe, but on the other side you get an opportunity to meet many people.
Ticket cost (in June 2005) was about 9 euro from Ekaterinburg to Severouralsk. Bedclothes about 2 euro/per person.
Note 1: All carriages in every class have a WC with a toilet and a washstand.

There's a conductor in every carriage in every train. He or she usually looks after everything, provides greater security, can solve all the problems, show you around the train, give the information you need, wake you up at a specific time, or just chat.
An exclusive thing about Russian trains is a tea-boiler. It works on real (!) fire, and always has hot water inside. You can buy teabags from the conductor, pour hot water, and have nice tea at any time of the day or night.
Almost every train has a carriage with a restaurant (about 12 euro for lunch).

Note 2: Toilet in a forest (active part of the tour) - not far from the camp.

Price of the tours for group more than 14 participants will be calculated in addition.

General conditions of tour reservation:

Now we have finished to register participants for the Main Excursion of Conference (Deadline of booking and payment of three-days excursions - 31 March, 2006 - Second Circular). 
Nevertheless you can take part in any of other three-day excursions  in the mountains of the Southern and Northern Ural.  Deadline of booking for these excursions is prolonged till May, 1.

Final price of the Main Excursion of the Conference will have been sent to all participants by 1 May 2006.

For final booking of any of other three-day excursions tour it’s necessary to pay tour deposit – 50 ˆ . Deadline of tour deposit’s payment – 1 May 2006. The fact of payment of tour deposit means final booking of the tour for you. Full payment is after your arrival to Ekaterinburg. Please fill out the booking form.
